No introductions were necessary; I spotted the family I was looking for at Gilcrease Museum right when I pulled into my parking spot. Morgann and Kenmon Workman wanted a fur family of four photoshoot in Tulsa with their two pups: Athena the German Shepard and Zeus the Corgi/ Jack Russell Terrier mix. As soon as I walked up to them, said hi to everyone who was 2ft or taller, I squatted all the way down to say hello to Zeus. Almost immediately I was met with the tiniest of puppy licks placed just on the side of my chin. I love all dogs: I have an enormous heart for the “scary” breeds, I’ll walk right up to a German Shepard, I proudly own a Rottweiler, but it’s the little guys that are built close to the ground and have so much love that melt my heart. The little guys exactly like Zeus.

When Morgann emailed me initially to inquire about a photoshoot with her, Kenmon, and their two dogs I thought ‘YAAASSS!’ which was quickly followed by ‘I hope she’s serious about bringing their dogs.’ Hahha. They love their dogs just like they’re family and so, of course, we had non-stop conversations about our dogs and all the amazing, crazy, funny, dumb, loving things they do.

Thank you for allowing me to photograph your sweet little fur family! I really enjoyed working with Zeus and Athena; they are fantastic dogs!! It was great to meet you and work with you for an evening. I remember driving away thinking that y’all would be so cool to hang out with! Hahha.
