I had planned this photoshoot for the 2021 Senior Model Team lineup before the pandemic. Before spring semester of 2020 was cancelled, before distance or virtual learning were everyday terms, and school pride was becoming a fading concept. The Home Team Photoshoot was created to give my model team photos of them in their favorite school t-shirt, school sports team shirt, or club shirt. When you spend four years somewhere, it’s kind of cool to celebrate that place and time in your life and encapsulate it in your senior year experience. 

Although, I think these photos are more important now than when I originally thought of the idea for the photoshoot. Some of my models are going to school online and only get to see their classmates and friends from a computer screen. I can imagine that it must feel difficult to have community and a connection to a place where they once spent the majority of their time. The ones who are able to attend school are wearing masks and having to stay distanced from each other. 

My Class of 2021 Senior Model Team met me at the Nienhuis Park in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. This will be the most casual team photoshoot they have, sporting their high school shirt and jeans. We used the Broken Arrow Youth Football Field as a perfect backdrop, and a few of the ladies chose to pose with their golf clubs. At the very end of the night, we went to the gazebo that is surrounded with beautiful roses. The ladies were so excited they got to have two different kinds of individual photos at this shoot. 

Our next event will be in early December, and I have something really fun planned for them; I can’t wait to tell them!!! (Hint: there will be cookies and Christmas celebrations!) I am really looking forward to having a social event with these ladies! I can’t wait until December.

After we were done with the sports fields and greens, we headed to the rose garden that surrounded a gazebo! I can’t decide what set of photos I love most!!

Their first photoshoot was at Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The theme was “Garden” and they wore white or off white dresses and their whole shoot is based around the gardens and the flowers! Click here to see the second group of models for this first photoshoot!
