Laiza is the only senior this year to have sent me a Pinterest board full of senior photography inspiration and I absolutely loved it! I was able to see the patterns in the lighting, poses, and the overall feel of the images that she seemed to pin consistently. Her impression was that it felt random, like a collection of “oh I like this” and “maybe some of that,” but in looking at her board as a whole, she had a very steady vision for her Senior Photoshoot. We tried to schedule her photoshoot on a day and time where there would be golden sunshine, but alas, we struck out twice! She even woke up at 5:30am in the hopes that there would be sun for the lesser-known morning golden hour!! Before we began her photoshoot, she used words like “crisp and bright images that are light and warm“ to describe the impression of her perfect photoshoot. The whole time she was shaping her photoshoot concept, I could tell this Booker T Washington senior had been dreaming of her Senior Photoshoot Experience for a long time.
I shouldn’t have been so impressed by Laiza and the way that she described the feeling of her perfect senior photoshoot. I knew beforehand that she is a creatively-driven person, but it’s not too often I have a senior lady who talks in the same language as me! I was so shocked and loved how she wasn’t afraid to describe something in a dramatically different way than her peers. Laiza and I talked a bit about her creative side and how it can be hard to balance that with daily life. She really enjoys doing photoshoots with her friends and creating videos.
Laiza’s whole photoshoot was at Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We spent the larger part of her photoshoot in the backfields with the tall grass. Sunshine or not, this is one of the most beautiful spots that not many people know about… hidden right in the heart of Tulsa!
I really enjoyed working with you during your Senior Photoshoot Experience. I can’t tell you how honored I am that you chose me to be your senior photographer and trusted me enough to wake up at 5:30 in the morning for a sunrise photoshoot! I hope that you enjoy your gallery for years to come!
