I don’t remember this conversation taking place but my friend Sarah promises me that it did. I’m sure she’s right and since I have the memory of a goldfish, she has the upper hand in this one. Apparently, I agreed to take a series of photos of her surprising her husband, Josh, with the news that they were pregnant. And why would she would bring this conversation up so many months later? It was time. It was time to plan a very sneaky photoshoot and to surprise Josh. So we planned, plotted, set out outfits, and had help picking the location. Now all we had to do was get Josh there… So we lied. We told him I wanted some video of me photographing an actual photoshoot for a promo video for ah Productions. He was pretty reluctant but I don’t think it took much convincing.

I planned for them 5 sets of photographing, that would take about an hour, and Sarah knew what the fifth one was. We had a blast; I am sure she was a nervous wreck the whole time, but Josh and I were having fun! She was a total pro and any nerves Josh might have sensed could have been chalked up to the fact that she was in front of the camera.

Set five came… I stood them back to back and collected two chalk boards I had stashed away. The one I gave to Josh listed 1. 2. 3. and I instructed him to write three simple and nice things about Sarah. I gave Sarah the chalkboard that we made the night before; which read “You’re going to be a daddy!”

Oh boy, was he surprised. But I’ll let you see how this happy ending turned out.

In honor of this soon-to-be excitement, I felt like this weekend was the perfect time to post this blog, finally! (Well, I couldn’t ruin the surprise for a very long time!) These two love birds are having their maternity photoshoot this weekend, we are throwing them a baby shower, and they are eagerly awaiting becoming parents in a few short weeks.

Allowing them to swipe through the photos until they came to the slide where she is about to surprise Josh. So each family member could live through the same surprise and excitement too.
