During Rebecca and Murray’s maternity photoshoot, Rebecca and I reflected on the very high-highs and low-lows that their small family has rejoiced over or had to endure over the last year. The past many months have hurled many trials at both of them as they have been tested mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Through it all, they came through it on the other side with a stronger marriage, a more intense love, and very ready to welcome their baby girl into their family. Rebecca looks at Murray and says that being by his side is her favorite place to be!!! How sweet is that?
As I reminisce about Rebecca and Murray at this point in their lives, it reminds me that being in the middle of trials, people say “There’s a light at the end of the tunnel.” I don’t think we, as people, typically take too much time to pause and say ‘ah… this is the end of the tunnel.’ Instead, we’re on to the next thing that life has handed us. But for Rebecca and Murray, they are so grateful to be at the end of their tunnel as they prepare for their princess to join them. They have so much support and such an amazing family around them; the transition of a new child in their home will be eased by compassion and love from their friends and family.
They chose to have their photoshoot at Roger’s Landing in Catoosa, Oklahoma. The public use park is home to two historic Route 66 bridges. I absolutely love this spot on a warm spring afternoon; with the glowing sun and the white bridges are a perfect pair! I just couldn’t resist having a little bit of sun flare in my images!!! I do have to comment on the stunning dresses Rebecca picked out for herself; I am in love with the dreamy pink one. We were so happy that Murray played along with our idea for him to wear suspenders and a bowtie. Even as he was putting them on, he was asking to not have to wear them and we remained firm that he should. I think his suspenders just make his second outfit!! What do you all think?
I promise you, in knowing Murray, whatever it was that had Rebecca giggling, it was funny! She was having difficulty trying to pose for me and not allowing him to get her completely lost in laughter! It was so much fun to be with these two, they were great sports and laughed through the whole session.
