The white marble wall provided the perfect backdrop for Kelsey and Robert’s emotion-filled first look at the Colcord Hotel in Oklahoma City. Its classy and timeless look allowed the focus to remain on Kelsey and Robert’s emotions as they saw each other for the first time, exchanged gifts, and posed for a few portraits.
I had to start with a photo of Kelsey as she twirled through the lobby, giddy with anticipation to see Robert for their first look on their wedding day. I’m so glad they chose to have this special moment indoors on that hot June day. It gave them a chance to relax, avoid feeling rushed because of the heat, and stay as cool as possible while soaking in the moment.
After their first look, Robert and Kelsey exchanged gifts. Robert gave Kelsey a plant that, from what I gathered, held a special meaning from their past — a sweet sentiment he was bringing into their future. As Kelsey read her card from him, her expressions shifted from full laughter and wide smiles to tearful, heartfelt moments. The part of me that only gets to document and not hear or see the card’s contents was dying to know what Robert had written! Judging by Kelsey’s reactions, his words must have been incredibly beautiful and powerful.
Kelsey’s gift to Robert was equally heartfelt. She surprised him with a special photo album filled with pictures of bunny sightings they shared throughout their dating and engagement season. Bunnies had become a significant symbol in their relationship, and it was so sweet to see them flip through the album, reminiscing about those moments. I even caught a glimpse of a photo I had taken during their engagement session when a bunny unexpectedly ran into one of their portraits — a full-circle moment for sure!
Their heartfelt gift exchange was followed by a few bride and groom portraits in front of that timeless white marble backdrop. The classic and elegant setting perfectly complemented the genuine love and care they have for one another. It’s not hard to see why this became one of my favorite first-look moments of 2024. Robert and Kelsey are such a fun couple who nurture their beautiful relationship, and their deep love for each other is evident.
Enjoy their first look, gift exchange, a few couples portraits, and even a funny moment where Robert helped Kelsey with a spot of lipstick on her teeth!
