Astrological Themed Wedding – Editorial Photoshoot

This astrological themed editorial photoshoot took place in Phoenix, Arizona at the Marriott Phoenix Resort Tempe at The Buttes. The astrology theme gives the wedding and styling décor a deep and bold color palette that pops against the pastel greens of the cacti and light rock colors of the desert landscape. The rich royal blues pair well with the gold and brass accents at the head reception table. The color combination is pleasing to the eye because of color theory but it also completes the astrological wedding day theme.

Wedding themes can be helpful because it sets the mood and style of your wedding. It also helps create boundaries for the color palette: making the choices from venue, cake style, and wedding colors a little bit easier as the variety of what ‘fits’ or ‘doesn’t fit’ into your wedding theme becomes a little clearer. Having a wedding theme allows you to have very unique décor and design elements. Proper use of a theme should stretch and weave through every part of your wedding day experience. For this celestial styled editorial shoot, colored polished rocks were part of the detail photos and scattered through the reception head table. Guests could find a star and horoscope themed present at their reception table. Lastly, a good theme is a good way to engage your guests; from the moment the Save The Dates arrive they know that your wedding will have a specific story to tell.

The possibility for a theme that fits you and your fiancé for your wedding day is endless. However, having a themed wedding isn’t for everyone, but if you do choose one for your wedding day, make sure it is something that’s connected to your life or your love story. That way you will never outgrow your wedding theme because it’s a part of your history and who you are!
