Leah & Tyler Maternity Photoshoot

Most times a rainy day in Oklahoma is a very good thing, but sometimes it delays a beautiful photoshoot just like this one. We orginially had to reschedule Leah and Tyler’s photoshoot because a bright and sunny Oklahoma summer day turned dark, grey, and dreary. Their rescheduled day rained all morning and afternoon but then cleared up just in time, it became sunny, and too hot for a photoshoot. Rescheduling and rain made me nervous; Leah had about a week until she was to meet baby, and I was hoping that he wouldn’t decide to come early! Nonetheless, we had a beautiful summer evening that was just perfect for a maternity photoshoot in Tulsa!

Location:  Gilcrease Museum, Tulsa Oklahoma

One idea that makes a photoshoot special and specific to clients is the use of personal objects and heirlooms. For Leah and Tyler, we were able to show their individual history through objects of their childhood. These tiny Nike shoes were Tyler’s when he was a baby and now they will be his sons when he grows big enough to fit them.

The book Leah and Tyler are reading was gifted to Leah and her mother when Leah was just a baby. It was recently gifted from Leah’s mother to Leah and her baby to continue the linage in her family. These ordinary objects are special, not in their value, but the history and memories they have for either Leah or Tyler and now will be passed on to their first child together.

These are gorgeous!! Beautiful lighting…beautiful couple…and her dress choices are amazing! I also love the sentimental items that they brought along…what a great idea! And all the detail shots of the flowers & greenery go so well with your post!

Thank you Lea! The location has beautiful gardens all around, so I thought why not add them in?! Thank you for your kind words!

  2. Soooo beautiful!’ She did an awesome job choosing dresses! I specifically love the one farther back in the field and then then the one in the blue dress where she’s faced the camera and he’s turned around but holding hands and holding belly. That is a great maternity pose! Your light looks great! I’m sure they love these and will for a long long long time!

  3. Mama to be is GLOWING!
I love the light; well done!
