Jenks Senior Sophia Skates Through Her Senior Photoshoot Experience

One unforgiving factor of the Oklahoma weather is that it likes to turn on a dime. Sophia had scheduled her “summer” photoshoot months ago and, unfortunately for her, on the morning of her photoshoot, fall had finally arrived to Green Country. Sophia never complained, even though she shivered for almost two hours because the temperatures which had dropped 35 degrees overnight! She endured 15 mph winds as her perfectly curled hair swirled around her. Her spirits remained high and she was excited for her Senior Photoshoot Experience regardless of the weather conditions! This Jenks high school senior Sophia skated with ease through her photoshoot experience.

It was impressive to watch Sophia after she changed into her speed skating uniform. It was like she was finally comfortable in her own skin and she looked more in her element than I had seen her previously. It’s not that her speed skating uniform was warmer, because I am sure it wasn’t, but it was like she was home when she was wearing it. She didn’t shiver as much and when she crouched down like she would if she was skating, I could see the athlete in her eyes. I instantly wished we were in Venezuela and I could see this sport, that she had been explaining to me, in action.

Sophia’s senior photoshoot started in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma where we hid from the wind with every chance we could. After that, the sun came out and we met it in the backfields at Gilcrease Museum for the perfect golden hour images! Sophia really had her heart set on a golden glow finish at sunset which seemed impossible with the windy, sprinkling, cold start to her photoshoot, but she was rewarded with a bit of beautiful sun right at the end!

Sophia,

Thank you so much for sticking it out with me during your Senior Photoshoot Experience! I am so impressed that never once did you ask for a warm up break, to end your shoot early, nor did you complain. I had the best time working with you and really enjoyed your shoot despite the less than wonderful weather you had. I hope you enjoy the highlights from your photoshoot!
