So this year, I’ll switch it up a bit and share my favorite 16 Instagram posts of 2016. Even though I am a professional photographer, sometimes what comes from my cell phone surprises me! In reviewing my year, these 16 images were picked because they speak to me about my year and they speak to me as a visual person. I went back through my Instagram account (follow me here) and picked exactly 16 images… these 16 images… and that’s how I knew this is what I would share.

Jan 22 – Cuddle them while you can. They’re only here for a little while.

I knew my sweet Preshous (pronounced precious) did not have a lot of time left on this earth, at 16 and a half years old, she had been with me through so much of my life. Even though she was a Persian she was the coolest and most laid back but respectful and loving cat I will ever meet.

This could easily be one of my favorite images of him, those eyes! He has a true, deep honey color that is so hard to see most of the time. I feel like I could stare at his eyes forever! (This is Knuckles, my leggy and sleek Rottweiler.)

May 10 – A beautiful rainbow in the middle of Wyoming. We saw it on our way to see Abby and Jacob for their wedding.

May 14 – Pool party for Knuckles birthday.

May 21 – The west coast is one of the most beautiful places.

May 30 – We’re having a lazy Monday morning. I am sitting on the couch with this guy, a good book and a cup of coffee. The windows are open, the birds are chirping, and the fresh morning air smells like spring rain.

Jun 5 – Just a pinch of lavender on my songbook.

Jun 15 – Apparently I am all about coffee today!

Jun 16 – Tonight was Beef Arepas with Blue Apron. So, very yummy!

Sep 9 – Good morning sleepyhead.

Sep 11 – Until next time PDX!

I grew up in a weird place. Yes, taking pictures of your feet in any place is kind of a culture thing of the high-tech generations. However, Portland has a very odd attachment to the airport carpet, this is the new style carpet but the old style has it’s own brand… I said I grew up in a weird place. The truth is, that old carpet brings back the rush of emotions every time I stepped off a plane and got to hug my mom or dad. Its a strange thing to be attached to, all Portlanders realize this.

Sep 11 – Yesterday was a beautiful day for football. I always get giddy seeing the O appear.

If you are a true Oregon ducks football fan, you walk the park in Eugene, cross the bridge over the river and walk up the hill through the woods. Then through the trees you see the face of the stadium, which cannot be seen in any other spot.

Oct 6 – Selfies with Nova almost always begin and end with kisses.

Oct 21 – Nothing like a morning with yoga, Starbucks coffee, and a beautiful sun rise with fog to make you feel set for the day.

Dec 26 – One of the sweetest Christmas photos ever!
